You’ve found a venue, hired a planner, and even have the perfect dress. But what’s a wedding without the perfect soundtrack? Finding the right music for your big day is a huge decision. You can’t underestimate the power of great music at a wedding. It sets the mood, gets people excited, and gets them on the dance floor to celebrate your big day! Today I’m sharing 3 important things to remember when planning your wedding music so that you can have the best music possible for your special day.
Identify your “must play” songs, but…
Work with a DJ who knows how to pack the dance floor. For example, if your DJ is playing your must play songs and the dance floor becomes totally empty, allow them to use their expertise to play music that will get guests back out there.
Find an expert at reading the room.
In this day in age, there’s no reason to rely on the same old tired wedding music. Whether your tastes run toward the classic, the modern, or something in between, it’s important for couples to channel their personality while also catering to what will get guests on the dance floor. From oldies but goodies to disco fever and 80’s hits to current hits, your guests will like all kinds of music. Not sure what your music style is? A good DJ can help you figure it out and help you plan music that flows seamlessly throughout your whole day and keeps the dance floor packed.
“From start to finish he was easy to communicate with and helped with the planning. He’s very professional and made sure that we were able to get what we wanted as well as came up with ideas of his own that made the night even better. He kept the party going and everyone had an amazing time.”

Be open.
Like I said, your wedding is your big day but you also want all your special guests to get on their feet and dance with you! Be open to the advice of a quality DJ who knows what gets the tears flowing and guest dancing! A great DJ can always let you in on the newest and best jams out there as well as classics.
